Dear Colleagues, Industry Partners and Friends of the Library:
We are in full swing for the next Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI), General Conference and Assembly to be held on November 16-18, 2011 in Hotel Elizabeth located at #1 J. Felipe Street corner Gibraltar Street, Baguio City East, Baguio City. This activity is in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and Arts-National Committee on Library and Information Services (NCCA-NCLIS) with the theme: “National Conference on Libraries for Progress.”
PLAI aim to fulfill the following objectives:
1. To impress among librarians the importance of their role in the promotion of reading, education, research, lifelong
learning as well as dissemination of information;
2. To revitalize the libraries and librarians’ role in the creation and promotion of a post-literate society;
3. To provide updates on the issues concerning libraries, information centers and librarians.
Consider this then as an invitation for you to prepare for travelling and planning your schedules for another inspiring professional national conference. The PLAI National Conference registration fee is Four Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P4,500.00) inclusive of lunches, snacks, kits, certificates and fellowship dinner. We will be applying for CPE credit units and likewise will request Commission on Higher Education, (CHED) Department of Education (DepED), and the Civil Service Commission for attendance on official time.
